UTE has been a comprehensive training ground for Engineers and Technicians. Many of our employees are sought after by overseas employers. Those who have left us giving adequate notice have also re-joined us on their return to Sri Lanka.

UTE Projects (Pvt.) Ltd. specializes in the rehabilitation and re powering of locomotives and has expertise in Project Management of large engineering projects that require the coordination of several divisions of UTE.

Ecologic Systems (Pvt) Ltd., provides turnkey services from design to supply of equipment, installation, commissioning and Operation & Maintenance of water and wastewater treatment, transmission lines, solid waste management systems, flow measuring instruments and other environment engineering products. It now has a vision to become a company that provides Total Waste Management products and services.

ABC Computers (Pvt) Ltd.
As a premium partner for HP products in Sri Lanka ABC computers have won the customer confidence through superior customer care and prompt after sales support.

In addition to these Revenue Earning Divisions we have the General Departments such as Finance, Personnel, Imports, Administration and Information Technology which are essentially support services for the group of companies. Therefore, whatever area you are interested in, we could have opportunities available for you.

Our main office is at Mabole, Wattala (on the Negombo-Colombo Road) and is used for the Construction, Power, Material Handling, Industrial Equipment Sales, Rental, Main Warehouse, Repair Workshop and all support services. At Ratmalana we have the Environmental Engineering and Project Management offices. In Panchikawatte, Anuradhapura and Galle we have our own sales outlets for spare parts and light industrial equipment.

Our salary structure is quite attractive compared to the prevailing market rates. We encourage our employees to develop themselves. We reimburse the cost of approved training courses, professional membership fees and relevant business seminars. We firmly believe in continuous in-house training, a separate Training Department being located in Wattala for this purpose. Furthermore, all employees are covered by different types of Comprehensive Insurance Policies. Many of our employees are sent overseas for various projects and training programs. Uniforms are provided free of charge to technical staff. UTE adheres strictly to the Government Labour Laws and most of our non-executive staff are members of the Ceylon Mercantile Union (CMU).

Because the name United Tractors is similar to United Motors or Lanka Tractors, confusion sometimes arises in the minds of people who are not familiar with the difference. Because we have been around for over 50 years and most of our loyal customers know us as "United Tractors" we have not changed our name. However, we have tried to give this name a meaning by emphasizing and associating the words "The Journey continues.. even after the sale" with this name. These words are specially meant to highlight our Leadership Position as the best organization to handle the required services after any sale and establish long-term mutually beneficial partnerships with our customers, employees, suppliers, Government policy makers and our community.

United Tractors Group Sports Club actively participates in major Mercantile sporting events - especially in Cricket and Badminton. Our Death donation Scheme helps our people in their hour of grief.
