Cat High Efficiency Filters
Maximum protection for fuel injectors

Higher Pressures and closer tolerances make today's fuel injectors, pumps and components more susceptible than ever to wear and damage from contaminants. Cat High Efficiency Fuel Filters fight fuel contamination more effectively than standard fuel filters. The critical component is a super-fine filtration media that removes more than 98 percent of particles 2 microns and larger. By comparison, standard filters only capture particles 15 microns and larger.

Maximum engine performance and fuel economy
Reduced exposure to abrasives
Reduced wear on injectors and pumps
Fewer fuel system adjustments
Easier starting
Longer filter life

Cat High Efficiency Fuel Filters are specifically designed to protect today's precision fuel systems. More contaminants are removed, providing maximum performance and components life.

Take a closer look at protection and performance

A close look at Cat High Efficiency Fuel Filters shows why they're your best choice to meet today's fuel contamination challenges. These exclusive filters are engineered and built to remove more contaminants, so they provide maximum protection of injectors, pumps and other fuel system components.

Cat High Efficiency Air Filters
The design of Cat Filters incorporate several advanced features to provide up to 50% greater service life than other brands of Air filter elements. Its further improves resistance to life-shortening effects of high air flow and high humidity conditions.

The high air flow required by diesel engines and high humidity working environments can cause air filter pleat bunching. This condition reduces the effective filter media surface area, which leads to premature plugging, shortened maintenances intervals and less than desired service life.

This air filter design features built-in pleat support and positive pleat spacing to resist bunching, even under extreme conditions. The result is extended service life, which means longer filter change intervals and lower overall maintenance costs. These filter elements cover over 90% of the Caterpillar earthmoving product line.

Out of sight is not out of mind

The most controllable contaminants are abrasive particulars, which can very greatly in size, hardness and abrasion. The comparison illustrated here demonstrates the very tight clearances in your fuel system and the size of visible particles. As you can see, even particles that aren't visible can wear away at your fuel system and reduce performance.

Effective Filtration
Cat Filters feature a unique fiberglass spiral roving to insure that pleats don't flex, putting an end to pleat movement.

No other filters have spiral roving. With less expensive filters, pleats are able to move or "flex." This can release contaminants into the oil or fuel and cause premature engine wear. Cat Filters trap and hold contaminants.

As you can see, the spiral roving on Cat Filters means more effective filtration. With no "pleat movement," contaminants stay locked in the filter and out of your engine.

Maximum Engine Protection

Only Cat Filters are made with nonmetallic center tubes to better protect your engine.

Inexpensive filters have metal center tubes which can leave metal contaminants from the manufacturing process inside the filter. These metal fragments can lead to scored bearings and cause damage to other critical engine components.

Cat Filter center tubes are clearly better because they use fiberglass-reinforced nylon instead of metal, so there is no chance of metal contamination. They are cleaner and protect your engine, instead of possibly causing damage. Plus, Cat nonmetallic center tubes are 30% stronger than typical metal tubes to help prevent collapse during pressure spikes and cold oil start-ups.

Cat Filters virtually eliminate contaminants from entering the engine with one-piece, molded polyurethane end caps.

On less expensive filters, end caps are metal and are glued directly to filter pleats. This can cause gaps between the metal and pleats that can allow contaminants to leak between the filter media and end cap.

Cat Filters' structural integrity is better because filter pleats are actually inserted into the liquid urethane as the end caps are being formed. As the polyurethane hardens an impenetrable bond is formed between the pleats and end caps. The possibility of gaps is eliminated, keeping contaminants in the filter and out of your engine. Cat Filters also feature a one-piece, aluminum base plate to further protect your engine from leaks and metal contamination.
