The Sri Lankan economy is growing rapidly after the end of the war. The construction sector is leading this economic revival with many infrastructure development projects which were previously not possible. War torn areas in the North and East are being rebuilt and reconnected with the rest of the country. UTE is the pioneer engineering solutions provider in the country and is determined to be at the forefront of this revival.
UTE embarked on an ambitious infrastructure development program at the beginning of 2011. UTE management was committed to elevating the company's infrastructure to that of the global standards set by Caterpillar dealers worldwide. It was recognized that improving the company's overall physical surroundings would serve to improve operational efficiency, productivity, overall customer satisfaction and strengthen UTE's corporate image.
A considerable amount of time, effort and funding was required to accomplish this ambitious project. Leading architects and suppliers in the country were hired to modernize the UTE head office. The work progressed at a rapid pace around the clock. Many of the basics such as the electric system, air conditioning and the network systems were completely overhauled. The contribution and support of all employees ensured that the project was completed in record fifty eight days.
The new office layout was designed to ensure complete information security while encouraging internal communications. Customer service and comfort t was also of the utmost importance. Several new customer meeting rooms were built with state of the art facilities. The parts counter was also revamped to be more streamlined, efficient and comfortable for customers. The Service division was established in a separate location overlooking the workshop, reinforcing UTE's commitment to excellence in product support. Whilst re-organizing the office space an extra room was created within the building which will cater for UTE's future expansion plans. The building exterior was also given a brand new look to give UTE an overall polished and modern image.
UTE is a dynamic corporate entity and this refurbishment served to reflect this in the company's physical appearance. Sri Lanka is modernizing and developing and UTE will continue to do so as well in order to better serve its customers and its country.
