UTE achieves 100% certification in DLMS

Caterpillar's Dealer Learning Management System (DLMS) is a Caterpillar tool that assists dealer employees and managers in managing Caterpillar learning content for dealer personnel growth and professional development. This global web based tool is used by all the Cat dealers worldwide to train their staff.

DLMS was launched at UTE in December 2009. Under this system the DLMS administrator enrolls trainees in a multitude of web based training campuses according to their area of work. Trainees go through structured training modules given under respective certifications within a limited period of time. After each course the knowledge acquired is assessed through a web based examination where each trainee has to achieve a pass mark of 80%.

UTE provided all the trainees with facilities such as Laptop computers and high speed internet dongles to complete their courses while they are at office or at home. The trainees returned the favor by completing their certification before their target dates.

DLMS is an extremely effective way to share knowledge among all Caterpillar dealers using internet as the delivery medium. This has enabled Caterpillar to bring their worldwide dealer staff to a common standard and develop training plans to suit the latest products being introduced. As a result now, Caterpillar can disseminate information at a much faster rate without the hassle of having to fly staff across different continents.
